Week 8 Update

After a lot of research about the nowadays industry and recent games, I decide to investigate about a new UI design for the next gen first person shooting game. The UI is going to contain diegetic, non-diegetic, Meta and spatial components if any of them could convey information to the player effectively and efficiently. The Screen would be split into 3 parts, 1 gaming screen, 1 screen showing the whole character avatar, which would indicated the damaged parts on the armour, the last screen would show the weapon the character is carrying and the condition of it. In the UI demo, the player would still use controller to play the game, however the avatar and weapon screens would be controlled by the Move from PS3 or Kinect from Xbox. Therefore the player could physically fix the damages of their characters’ armours and weapons.
